The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 have been leaked extensively in recent months ahead of their official unveiling on August 10th, but now we have something new in terms of early leaks: real-life photos of the foldable handsets.
These photos were posted by @noh_tech (opens in new tab) about twitter (opens in new tab) (through 9to5Google (opens in new tab)) and give us a decent view of these two Samsung smartphones, from various angles, in what appears to be a sort of blue-grey color.
Since we’ve already had so much information about the foldables, these photos don’t tell us much about what’s new. However, it is interesting to see photos in the hand of the devices before they are presented on Wednesday of this week.

There are a few minor design tweaks that are noticeable in the photos, making these handsets a little different from their predecessors. As reported, the screen creases look smaller this time around, so credit Samsung for that.
Meanwhile, it looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a smaller external hinge area compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 – another sign that manufacturers are getting better at manufacturing the complex components that go into these phones.
The big Samsung Unpacked event taking place in a few days isn’t just about foldable phones, because we’ll likely have some smartwatches and wireless headphones too. The event starts at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm BST / 11pm AEST on August 10th.
Analysis: What we think we know so far
As we mentioned above, these two phones have already been leaked extensively. If these leaks are accurate, Samsung won’t have much to surprise us on Wednesday, when the next Unpacked event is underway.
It looks like the Galaxy Z Fold 4 will have a 7.6-inch main screen, the same screen size as its predecessor. There was also talk of an optical zoom upgrade for the rear camera module, while the phone will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus chipset and could come with up to 1TB of storage.
As for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, the phone is expected to be a little thicker than the foldable it’s replacing, although the screen apparently remains the same size at 6.7-inches. The hinge is said to be less clunky this time around, while rumors are that better battery life could be one of the major improvements.
We’re not too sure about the price of these phones, but we don’t expect them to be particularly affordable. We also recently heard that they might drop the Z part of their names this year, which would at least make them easier to write and speak.
